91 ZXR-750 Won't run....Help Please

Post by Vega »

As the title suggest I'm having a no go at the moment.

Problem -

Try to start bike without choke or throttle, can hear it turning over but sounds like i am getting no to little spark or fire.

Try to start bike without choke on and using a little throttle, can hear it turning over but sounds like i am getting no spark or fire at all.

Try to start bike with choke on full, bike runs (just). But soon as you let the choke out or give it a little twist of the throttle. It cuts out again?

At any time i try to use the throttle it just cuts out....
I have cleaned out my tank and checked most of the fuel lines.
What could it be....need it going asap is it's my daily transport :?

Thanks

Kelvin

I had a similar problem with my ZZR600 after cleaning it with a high-pressure hose at a servo.

Drain the carbies and see if it helps. You'll probably need to remove the tank, and the ZZR had small hex-headed bolts at the bottom of each carb. Catch the expelled petrol in a small dry up-ended Coke/soft-drink bottle with the bottom cut out at a slant and the lid still fitted. Once you up-end the bottle with petrol in it any water is pretty self-evident (it was in my case anyway).

HTH.

I'm not really that mechanically minded when it comes to bikes....they are new to me....As far as Iv'e got was pulling the tank off and draining the fuel.

I think I have fixed the problem now....

I took the fuel pump out and gave it a tap pn the ground a few times....think it may have been blocked?

Seems to be ok for the moment
