F'ing brakes

i (a bike mechanic...i paid) have recently replaced my brake pads and now they make a grinding sound braking between 40 and 60, i have checked for rubbing, disk damage, and anything out of the ordinary and the mechanic even pulled off the pads after 200k's and ground them down, and still a noise...
I have a zzr600 (05) and the new pads are EBC (not scintered) does anyone know what this could be or what pads to replace the originals with?

Did mech use copper grease on back of pads? This normally gets rid of squeal, but may be it?

Could simply be the pads bedding into the disc. Try getting the air hose in and blowing the brake dust out.

thanks mike, but we ground them after 200 k's and the noise is still the same, think about a hot day with cicada's, and make the sound just above engine noise. I really think it's the composition of the pad

Reads replies intently.

Bunky (ZX6) has squeeky front brakes after new discs n pads...n new inspection plate covers. Its a scratchy, rubby, scraping, squidgykinda high pitched to get the hairs on ya neck flicking.. noise (The manual has no such heading/section???WTF & why not) its doing my head in.

Stops when I apply the front brakes

Drives me absolutely narna's.

Like a dash rattle in a car on a long trip, yet its a bit hard to go investigating while riding.

are u taking about the grinding noise from the pads.

with ebc its just normal operation. the HH pads make those noises normally.

That's pretty funny Mike!!!!!

Just for those that would like to know, Copper grease on the backing plate won't stop your discs from making noise! The noise is a result of friction between the rotor and the pads. Copper grease at the backing pad has no effect on this. In reality, the more noise they are making, the better they are working. Have you heard the noise that race car brakes make??? They make this noise partially due to the materials they use, as they don't have to worry about anything but stopping power and resistance to fade. They aren't particularly worried if the brakes make noise, just as long as they stop, and stop well! The stuff we get to use in our cars and on our bikes has been designed to be a happy medium. They work from cold, work when relatively hot, work in the rain and the dry and they are relatively quiet for ADR and comfort purposes. If we were to truly get race spec brakes, they would make loud horrible noises, and wear out both the rotor and the pads very quickly!

I have a mate who works for one of the brake companies as an engineer, and his head is full of all this type of useless information!

All I can say about the noise in your brakes, is "Harden the fuck up!"
