Mate,
there is 1 thing you gotta learn
ALCOHOL & MOTORCYCLES DO NOT MIX

I don't give a rat's arse whether you are on 'P's or not - IF you want to live to be an old git like me then have a bit of will power, like most Victorians on here, I have been known to have the odd taste of a beer or six but NEVER when I have the bike keys and as a lot will testify - even after one of our evening soiree's it is normally late afternoon before any one is fit enough to ride

Preaching over - resume being a dickhead

So let me get this right (and in English)

HP..

Your riding a 600 on your restricted P's, ok no big deal.

You "needed" to have a drink to socialise with your workmates. Since when did "socialising" and "drinking" become inseperable? I'll leave Rossi to say it completely, but alcohol and bikes don't mix.

On 2 occasions you braked so hard that you locked, and left locked, the rear tyre....
1. These sound like "emergency braking" moments, so wtf are you doing on the rear brake!?!? If your braking hard there is no weight on the rear wheel, it can't do any braking, forget about it!
2. Why did you leave it locked for long enough to cause "smoke". The second it locks get off it, or your going to end up on your arse. (Not to mention turning your tyre into a 50c piece)

It's got nothing to do with needing a new tyre, you braked too hard with the rear brake. Judging from your earlier post about tread markers, you've probably still got 10,000ks to get out of that tyre.

And lastly you approached a Booze Bus at such a speed as to be able to lock up the rear and overshoot the entry completely. It's not like they appeared out of nowhere, they are usually lit up like christmas trees. I would have thought being anywhere near a Booze Bus would be considered one of those "risky situations", like outside schools after 3pm, or at the tail end of bumper to bumper traffic. One of those situations where you turn all your attention on, cover the front brake, wash off a heap of speed, etc. Cos you just never know whats going to happen, when some idiot is going to U-turn in front of you without notice, etc.

Now I hope I haven't been too harsh. You've met me, I've met you, your a nice guy. To me it sounds like you made plenty of dumb decisions today that you really should walk away and think about. Riding is dangerous, take it seriously.

Bugger what a let off. Make the most of it. Don't drink and ride at all, even off Ps. Not worth the risk.

Cheers

no, it was on part of the entrance of the freeway from the city, so i was leaning over to the left and in the middle of the turn i saw the lights from the setup, there were other 2 bikers - 1 aprillia 2 stroke and a CBR250 there both of which couldn't be able to make the stop, but i was happen to be the guy in front, after i stalled the bike, they did slow donw however didn't stop and they jsut rode pass alto the officer did make a signal for everyone to get in and be tested.

i dont' think i'm to be blamed for that, it's where they set the thing up

but again....this is not the point.

and i swear i'll never ride / drive and drink.

by the way the rear tyre thread had less than 2 mm left, i mistakenly checked tyre wear indicators on the side and didn't realise there were some in the middle.

anyway as i said in my first post, it's all my fault.......i'm not trying to get away with it, but i'm that kinda guy that i fuck up then i learn

Seriously mate, along with all the other sage advice you've been given here already, I'd suggest you go out and practice your emergency stops.

You almost hit a car because you locked up the rear and lost control of the bike. You missed the breath test station because you locked up the rear and lost control of the bike. You stalled the bike because you locked up the rear and didn't pull the clutch in.

See the pattern here?

If the rear wasn't locked, you would've stopped quicker and had better control of the bike. If you'd pulled the clutch in and knocked it down through the gears, you would've been able to ride away. I think you can see now why they teach you that stuff when you get your licence. Go out and practice it a bit this weekend instead of bothering doing the spurs.

also kinda points out that people should master their 250's and small powered bikes b4 making the jump to fast sportsbikes.

no point in being fast if you cant stop.

if you had've been booked... and they threw book at you
-neg driving
-DUI
-driving unlicenced
-un-insured (does your insurance company know your not licenced to ride the 600??)
even your 3rd party doesnt count if your not licenced. thats why they book you for being un-insured.
- probly defect your bike too.

in the end you'd get ass raped worse than Draven...

thank your lucky stars boyo!

lesson learned, pay attention, learn to ride properly, how to brake smoothly/properly and dont drink, esp while riding a too big bike.

ya silly ponce.

that being said i've had a "moment" at a rbt, was late at night and i was sober as a judge, i was just not expecting to see a RBT at 2am on a Sunday night.

I was set up on the kingsway heading west just cresting over a hill. i was in the middle lane, a copper comes across with his lollypop and waves it about in the lane to my right.

Anyway this guy really needed to learn HTF to wave a stick, i wasnt sure if he meant "go around" or "go in". anyhow he jumped in front of me to stop me in my shitbox old mazda 626. I hard braked and stopped with about a foot to go before i woulda hit him. ffs it was so close he had put his hands on my bonnet just as i pulled up!!

The guy in the car beside me (to my right) slowed down as he had no idea wtf the guy was tryig to acheieve either.

After they tested me I told his partner who tested me i had nfi if he wanted me to come in or go around the way he waved the light around. He mumbled something i now forget and off i went.
