Boots for "generous" calves

Post by cowasaki »

I recall a while back the ladies (inc myself) discussing the problem with getting decent riding boots to fit our calves.

I have just picked up a pair of Gaerne GSP1's (albeit) mens and hey presto I can do the zip up the whole way and also the velcro bits. I normally take a EU39 in ladies and these are EU39 mens. Sometimes they are not the same.

The side panel has a stretchy bit that allows extra room for when you have to stick your leathers inside your boots.
At least now I wont have to 100 mile n hour tape my boots together for track days.

They are a wide fitting and very comfy on my feet. I have wide little plates on the end of ma legs and most of the European brands have thin little feet bits.

Worth giving them a go if you have had probs like myself, these are the only ones I have found so far that actually fit as they should.

I'd also suggest looking at a set of Sidi's with the adjustable calves. You can stuff your leathers in, zip them up and then using a ratchet tighten the calf in to exactly where you want it ... and they look race too :)
