Im thinking of buying these HEL braided brake lines for my 05 zx6

i put braided lines on my last bike (Z750) and they made a massive difference im hoping to get a similar improvement on the 6. although i havent had any problems with the standard kit so far. So really this as much of a "bling" project as a performance upgrade.
does that price seem about right ie $146 front and $73 rear or has anyone got them cheaper elsewhere

yup that's a decent price for HELs.
There's a bloke on PerthStreetBikes selling some unopened HEL kits for Kwackas (they were left over from a group buy), but they're for an 05 ZX-10R and an 03 ZX-12R, so no go there. Our group by went straight to HEL themselves and the leftover kits on PSB are going for $150, so not too far off the mark
You will, as you know already, get a massive difference in the feel of your brakes. They'll feel less spongy and much more responsive.
My last 2 bikes have had braided lines from the factory, and if I ever got a bike without braided lines, it'll be the first mod I do.
I like to know my brakes work
EDIT: Someone IS selling both FRONT lines only for an 05 ZX-6R on PSB in carbon look with gold fittings for $130 if you're interested...
But this will mean you'll still need a rear line.

Try a set of the goldfren carbon ceramic pads as well I have been getting them for 33 bucks a set and they stop mighty good I dont have braided lines yet and dont really seem to need them.

Portaz, as far as I know the hardest part is to prime the lines to get the fluid from the reservoir to the caliper once you've fitted them. And the easiest way to do that is to either use a vacuum bleeder (attaches tot he caliper nipple and "sucks" the fluid down) or a reverse bleeder (attaches to the caliper nipple and forces fluid up the line to the reservoir).
Otherwise pumping the brakes forever WILL give your hands a good workout!
