when i put the EBC HH pads in the ZX7R ii found i was getting 2 lots of farkn noise.......ARRGGGHHHHH!!!!!
one lot is the constant scrubbing noise which as the others said is due to the compasition of the pad material( which if you want to get rid of buy pads which are made of natural material not sintered) and the other lot was a squeal under braking. this ended up being the spring which sits on the back of the caliper above the pads, it just required a little bit of reshaping as it had lost it form after a few changes from the bikes track days.

otherwise earplugs!!!!

Are the pads runnings on a "virgin" section of the rotor. I had this prob on my old 9R when i fitted a set of Galfer pads, stopped really well but had this constant rubbing noise, had to HTFU and live with it. Maybe this is the case for you. If you dont commute on it, try it for 2 weeks, you'll get over it

blah blah farkin know it all blah blah
I know the grease on the back of the pads is to stop noise under braking due to movement of the pad on the piston - just had copper grease on the mind at that time, and always use it when replacing pads.

I like the suggestion of the new pad touching a part of the rota the old pad didn't. This would suggest the noise, and will dissapate once the pad beds to the shape of the disc.
