Brake caliper bleed nipples -SOLVED

hi
Im after some aftermarket bleed nipples for my brakes.
I want the one way jobs that make it real easy to bleed the brakes.

I was going to order the HEL ones but there is apparantly a delay for the bleed nipples and they may take a reasonably long time to arrive - according to a guy i spoke to from AUStreetfighter (nipples only, the other stuff they sell is fine).

So what are you using? where did you get em from and what did you pay?

Found some on ebay...
i swear when i looked this arvo there wasnt any there (for a decent price)
then i do another search now and find some cheap as

oh well - thats ebay i guess

Standard ones bleed fine just gotta be patient & helps to have a spare pair of hands... have tried the fancy ones but dont like the non back flow to tell if you have cracked the nipple enough

go to kmart etc and buy the one man bleed kit , $10-$15 , hose with a 1 way valve in it ,

fit hose, crack nipple and pump away

mate... i am sure they are only about $4 from autopro/supercheap etc..... (could be wrong though

) the thing with them is they work great.... but make sure you clean them out! Or the valve gets stuck..... (hey gos)

I was having some probs bleeding my brakes and gos came over to help..... and no matter how much pumping etc.... nothing was working.... and then BAMMMMMM of shot the whole valve assembly.... and fluid was all over the shop! after that resorted to the two man job with Gos's help!

Drove me nuts... oh and wasted about 1/2 a bottle of RBF600 ! Although quite amusing when the valve let go! Was quite loud and violent....(kinda like gos after a decent curry! )

Those work if everything is cold, I kept burning the hoses when i was at the track.

not as bad as after 10 bourbons

Yeh, clean out those one-way nipples, or they become no-way nipples, and its *splat* over everthing when they let go....

sounds like you guys had a good time installing these things....

thanks everyone for the tips.

i ordered some off ebay for about $4 each.
i will hang onto the old ones though incase i run into to probs like swabio/Gos mentioned.

My bike is going to be a braking monster pretty soon.
going to install a set of EBC HH pads (thanks for the tip swabs) as well as new brake lines and fluid.
just waiting for the parts to arrive.....

Just remember that the aftermarket pads are harder on the discs (apparently) so may pay to keep an eye out on ebay for some cheap spares
