Tyre valve stem

Found out that my rear tyre valve stem has deteriorated thus needs replacing.

The tyre is still inflated, though low on pressure. I can not inflate the tyre as pressure on the valve opens the leak.

Now my questions are:

Is it safe to ride a short distance to get this repaired ?

If not, what is the best way to get this repaired ?

Matee dont ride on that sucker not worth the risk & possible damage to your rim if she deflates totally

Take the wheel out, take it to a tyre place, replace tyre *immediately*, take home, installation is the reverse order of dissasembly.......

Don't risk it by riding anywhere....

Would you replace the tyre? If it's simply the valve that's rooted it can be replaced and the same tyre put back on. Valve just fits to the rim.

But, as others have said, def don't ride it. Damage to rim is possible, and the handling will be shot. The back will move all over the place, esp in corners and the front will run wide and not feel planted even at slow speeds.

the reason gos mentioned replacing the rubber is that it may have be unevenly worn if the guy has ridden the bike more than to the corner shop and back with the borked valve.

I think I farked up a bit there........I meant replace the *valve* immediately, of course its probably a tubeless tyre, so the tyre itself will *probably* be OK - notwithstanding the advice about uneven tyre wear if riding it flat.

Hey all thanks for the advice.

I was 40 mins from home, about midnight when it happened. Rode home slowly, tyre is still inflated after 3 days, only leaks when the valve is moved. i.e: trying to repressurise

Organising to have it replaced, hopefully the tyre is not damaged at all.

yea...good luck..if u get a valve get them cool 90deg ones that make it easier to inflate/check pressure...

ill be putting them in when i get tyre work done...
