re: HELP! Which tyre for ZX10
The best advice I can give you is to get rid of the Dung-Flops. Anything after that will be an improvement.
I'd personally choose a Bridgestone or a Metzler, but others here like the Pirellis and the Michelins.
Try them all over time and see what you like.

Pilot Powers, or I have heard good things about Metzlers.
But have ridden on Powers and they are a treat.

re: HELP! Which tyre for ZX10
thanks guys.
since i do do a few track days, the metzlers are no good as they heat too quick and arent good on the track. The pilot powers seem a good option though I might buy a set of road and another set of slicks for track... will give the michellin product a try...
cheers.

I recently spent a couple of days doing nothing other than laps of the famous Nurburgring. We did over 40 laps of the 20.8 km circuit and the bikes were shod with Metzlers. They are a fantastic tyre and I can highly recommend them for "track days"!
After 2 days they were a little roughed up, but looked as though I had been spending my weekend riding in the hills with my mates.

interesting. I'm going on what people have told me and based on that i made the assumption that they werent any good for track riding.aardvark wrote:

I'm also looking at the Preilli product too, the Diablo's... cant decide.

re: HELP! Which tyre for ZX10
Wear rate v Grip. I only use ultraperformance tyres(sticky rubber) but on a zx10 you will be spinning up rears pretty quick though.
Trackday tyre- Pirelli SuperCorsa SC2 or Bridgestone BT 012 SS will do the job nicely.
However for the street you may have to compromise if you are looking to get some more k's so maybe try a pilot power or pirelli diablo or metzler m1-sportec(i think thats it).
Regards
Glenn(zx7r).

re: HELP! Which tyre for ZX10
PILOT POWER all the way! I have just recently fitted the front, but have had the rear Power on for a few months & it's tops. They advertise them as having the best lean angle for a road approved tyre on the market & I didn't have any slides @ QR on the wekend.
Dude from Northcoast Kawasaki when I was looking @ ZX10 on Monday reckoned only Pirelli SC1/SC2 would be similar/better but more $$$ I think & won't last long on the street.

Yep, M1 Sportecs.... Phils tyre of choice. And from what I've heard, most of you knuckle heads could keep up with Phil.greenmeanie wrote: However for the street you may have to compromise if you are looking to get some more k's so maybe try a pilot power or pirelli diablo or metzler m1-sportec(i think thats it).
