Nah, it's compulsory here for police bikes to have front number plates.

I'm sorry mate but for some reason I find this really funny given the debate that has gone on about them and why we must have them

According to Vicroads...at the moment...
its also illegal as the bikes don't comply with the relevant ADRs ...

this issue with plates on SA police bikes came up some time ago
and from memory, the SA govt instructed the police to remove them
(I remember some serious press on this)

Yep, there was an uproar here about FNP's. If memory serves me correctly, they made some legislation to say that Police bikes had to have them (or could have them) but other bikes were still exempt.

Thats the govt. for ya!
