407km/h - it's bloody outragous! Why aren't all cars restricted to a sensible road going speed?

Don't scoff, someone in Europe considered 100kp/h for all motorcycles sold in the European Union. In most countries that wouldn't even manage the freeway speed limit.mike-s wrote:what? like 80km/h ?
I understand that motorcycles are more affordable than super cars, but it still annoys me that bikes get restricted (althought by manufacture agreement) and cars are unrestricted. This Bugatti is 100kp/h faster than any present production motorcycle!!!!! Perhaps motorcycles should have something similar to the Bugatti "extra key" that allows them to go unrestricted fast.

Yes it is voluntary, but only to stop governments making it legislation. Some of the luxuary cars are restricted to 150mph, including BMW, Merc and Jaguar, but I don't believe Ferrari, Lamborghini and the likes are restricted. Most are capable of well over 200mph.Mick C wrote:Actually aren't most high end sports cars restricted to 250km/h? And isn't it only a voluntary self-restriction by the manufacturers anyway?
