I managed to get a rear BT002 from Grays auctions for just over $100 new just recently. I'm going to fit it to the Gixxer to replace the stock BT014 which seems to be getting really BBQ'd on the track.
Is it advisable to fit a matching front BT002 at the same time or would I be Ok with the stock BT014 front? It still has plenty of tread.
Cheers
BT002 So who has ridden them and what do they think ???

I don't think you can go wrong with the BT002 I got as pair of used ones
from MadKaw they had a few laps of hard use. I have done 2 ride days & I think they could do another one, with lot's of grip at my pace(slow)
on a superbike spec ZX7RR with plenty of go on tap.

The 014 is a bit fatter across the middle and doesn't have as sharp a turn in. But the real issue is gunna be the back outgripping the front! You might find it starts to push the front a bit. I try and find a 2nd hand front somewhere. Ask around at race meets is best. The 002 front BTW, is the best front in the business IMNSHO!mmamster wrote:I managed to get a rear BT002 from Grays auctions for just over $100 new just recently. As an aside...I looked at those grays tyres, but didn't bid as I wasn't sure that they were the correct compunds and construction! If it the 002 Street tyre....SELL IT NOW! If it is the race keep it!

There are really only two questions in life. 1.Which way do i go? 2.What is the lap record?

Where do you get the used tyres from - haven't been to any race meets, but is there a racing forum where I could ask around? Strika it is a racing 002 so I'm in luck.Greenblood wrote:I don't think you can go wrong with the BT002 I got as pair of used ones

I Have used 002's for the last few years & cant fault them, spose if youre on a good thing then stick to it + Craig at Whites Racing has been a customer of mine for many years & this helps with supply at a good price
....... Wonder what the differance is between the ones used by the GP racers & our local supply? now thats prolly a huge can o worms question
