EBC HH Brake Pads

Hey all,
I'm in need of new front pads for my 2004 Z1000.
I have read of numerous great reviews of guys in the USA & UK using these 'EBC HH' pads on their Zed's, with great success.
Does anyone know of any distributors or dealers that stock these, ideally in Melbourne?

Got em on the nine work a treat much better feel than the originals I'm pretty sure i've seen them on ebay, front and rears good prices too

That price was pretty comparable to the US and a lot cheaper than most I found here in Oz.

I had to wait about a week or so, fast freight and very helpful.

I just bunged a set of the HH pads into the MFP12 - front only. They work really good.......and now the brakes make kind od a 'sssshhhhhhhhh' noise when working.......Its pretty loud, I can hear it over the 'zorst note !!

I haven't got mine on yet - still waiting for my friend who knows more than I to help with it. I've never changed them on a bike and only did it years ago on a car.

What's involved in doing the swap? I'm half afraid I'll cock it up!

I'm ok on bleeding brakes pretty much, it's just changing the pads I'm not too sure on. Any hints??

its a piece of piss mate. Your calipers are the same as the ones on the MFP12 I think ?

First thing - take one caliper off - don't take the line off, its not needed for a simple pad change. Use a flat-blade screwdriver to force the old pads apart (ie pushing the pistons back into the caliper - you will need the extra clearance when the new pads are fitted)

There is a pad-retaining pin on the *top* of each caliper. This will need to be removed - The 12 brakes have an allen-head on the retaining pin.

Once this is undone, you just remove the anti-rattle clip, and the old pads can then be removed. Installation of the new pads is basically the reverse procedure. Install the anti-rattle clip, then screw the retaining pin back into the caliper. Re-fit the caliper to the fork leg.

Repeat this procedure for the other caliper.

With the new pads installed, you may need to 'assist' the caliper over the disc rotor, carefully using a flat-blade screwdriver.

You should not even have to bleed your brakes if the old lines aren't touched......there has been no air introduced into the system, so no need to bleed any out. 2 or 3 pumps of the brake lever should see the pressure back to where it was before you started.

I am also planning to get new pads for my zx6r after when I get my braided lines so I rang my local Kawasaki dealer. The guy on the phone told me that the stock ones from the factory on the bike are actually better than the sintered or any after market ones. EBC sintered pads were 80 bucks per side for the fronts while the orginal factory ones were 110 per side. Is this guy blowing smoke out of his ass coz i thought the sintered ones were the bomb. He also told me that most guys on Mallala prefer the stock ones over the after markets ones......I think he is full of it.

I'd be surprised if the stock were better, but I guess it depends on what your criteria are. I know that the EBC-HH I put in Crim absolutely piss all over the stock pads as far as I'm concerned, and I can't imagine that they put significantly different stock pads on your 6.

For those that have radial mount calipers you don't need to take the caliper off the bike, you can just remove the pad retaining pin followed by the anti-rattle clip and then simply pull the old pads out. Installation is a reverse of this.

did u just change the pads or did u also installed braided lines with the pads? Best price so far is 60 per side for the fronts for EBC HH pads.
