full akra system on a cbr954
im unfamiliar with fuel injection and its hassles
if i was to add a full akrapovic exhaust system to my cbr954 would it need any other work done?
eg. power commander
or can it just be loud as hell without and not damage the engine?

Re: full akra system on a cbr954
does it matter?
it is after all a honda....
generally full systems need a bit of ecu tickling to get the most out of them.

Re: full akra system on a cbr954
might get away without tuning if u dont put a air filter on it... will run a bit leaner from extra air flow tho id reckon...
the honda ECU aint tuneable either...

Re: full akra system on a cbr954
It probably wont be that loud either dude, the Akra's are only a couple of db noisier than a stocker - they've got a really nice note but it's not overly loud. I fyou want noise I'd suggest twobros, Roo Racing (really loud as hell) or maybe a Yoshi (like a clit, every .... well, you know98ninja wrote:im unfamiliar with fuel injection and its hassles

Also, if you're not interested in tuning the bike to extract the maximum out of the full-system equipped engine (PCIII, air filter, custom map on the dyno, etc) then I'd question the intelligence of buying a full system - a slip on will give you plenty of noise.

Hey, if you can get the Akra for a good price I'm sure you'll be happy with it - it's just not as loud as some. I personally think Akra's are the shit and would happily trade the full Yoshi system from my tracky for an Akra any day of the week.

Re: full akra system on a cbr954
umm the buell has a huge v twin with an exhuast sytem thats abt 900mm long from engine to tip.... the 954 is an inline 4 with 3km of headers and a can twice the size (almost) of the buell..sure its gunna be quiter..the cbr also has heaps less torque and bucket loads more power (id guess 30hp+) but needs to be revved much higher...98ninja wrote:ok

if its JUST about the noise, go with a short can (mivv do some) or get a 2nd handy and cut it down..alternatively my staintune was loud as fark..leo vince carbon sounds a bloody treat on em too...
if u really wanna splurge..i cant tell ya the blue flame sound the ducks!!
