Gidday

Post by short n fat »

Greetings from Cairns Queensland.
I was directed here from another forum (yes-I'm a cyber slut :P )
A bit about me. I'm 40, been engaged 5 years (I keep telling her that good things come to those who wait!) and work as a Cabinetmaker, mainly contract installing.
Now before I go too far I'll have to confess that I've owned Harleys the last 21 years  I'm having a mid life crisis and bought a "93 ZXR750 a month ago. I'd forgotten how much fun it was to actually ride a bike. It's also been great to see the friendliness of sports bike riders as opposed to the instant "badarse I ride a Harley" type bullshit that seems to be so prevalant in Harley riders these days.
The bike is a tatty as traded special which I've spent more time working on than riding, but when it is going it's great. Almost like having to learn how to ride again.
So far I've replaced the clutch, clutch slave cylinder, stripped the carby, done the fork seals (ones already leaking again :? ), and the usual oil, filter, coolant, aircleaner, plugs etc. I haven't checked valve clearances yet, because I'm fairly sure something else will shit itself shortly. I like tinkering but normally ask a lot of silly questions before I pick up the spanners so be warned.
Looking forward to getting to know everyone here but am a bit of a loner and it normally takes me time to get comfortable and start "mingling'
I'm sure that's enough crap about me.
Regards Simon

Welcome aboard..

it seems to be a common problem with these zxr750's, they do require an amount of tinkering to get em sorted.
12 months and I'm still tinkering with mine...
