ZX7 / ZX9 engine swap - has anyone done this swap?
I know where I can get a zx7 cheap and was thinking about doing the zx9 engine swap. Is it worth all the hassle. I want to use the bike as a work/track hack. What do people think?
It's a speed thing if you have to ask, you wont understand

The pre 98 zx9r engine is almost a direct swap into the pre 96 zxr 750.
The also fit into the 96 + zx7r but require a little bit of extra work.
As Strika said Groggles has a 95 / 96 zx9r engine in his 95 zxr frame...
The 98 + zx9r engine is wider and doesn't fit as easily but can be done if you have the time. There was one floating around here a while back... Ben from extreme creations had I believe.?
Heres some links

The easiest option is the B model ZX9R engine. It basically slides straight in and only needs a couple of extra bits to get the top frame lugs to fit. the ZX7R Owners Club has a few members that have done it before and would be more that happy to let you know whats invovled.
Have a look at this site for what is instore for you if you go ahead.
