Bags for carrying lots and lots of stuff!

Post by Benno »

Ok guys, I've never had a tank bag/tail bag or a gear rack before.

Currently, with the Super Doopers coming up, I'll need to take my tent, sleeping bag and a few pairs of jocks away with me. Probably looking for the best set up. What have people used, and recommend? Any suggested sizes? And are most bags brand transferable? As in, if it fits my 10, will it fit a 2008 R1 for e.g.?

Any help would be appreciated!

I use a Ventura bag and rack which I've used for a bag and all my camping gear with no problems. For less gear I have a ventura tail bag and I also have a really small tank bag for my camera, phone, ipod etc that doesn't get in the way.

As above basically, Ventura rack, bag goes on the seat, tent goes on the rack, tank bag if I need it but rarely do.

yea.. the rack is designed for each bike... so prob wont fit the R1... even different year bikes dont fit the same bike from different years..if that makes sense??

I've got the Ventura with two bags, one big, one small. If you didn't need the small you could strap your tent etc on the back.

I'm deadly serious! Went and worked out a deal today. Have it hopefully by the end of the week, with cash to spare! Will wait till I have it before I post a thread, I'll take some pics. Now I need to get some bags to carry my gear to PI. Might have to meet up with Phil and crew for the super doopers!

I like the body positioning better. I'm not a small guy, and the 10 actually feels smaller to me. I guess I liked the package that the R1 offered, that and the fact that they were able to do a very good deal with me :) I doubt my riding will ever test the bikes to their maximum capabilities.
