ZXR750 igniter box wires - HELP PLEASE
I just bought a 91 ZXR750 as a bit of a doer upper and have discovered the wires for one of the plugs into the igniter box ( black box under the rider seat ) have been pulled out
There are two plugs that go into this box one with 3 wires ( or is it four ? ) and another plug with six wires. If someone has a 91 zxr could they please post a picture of the plugs and wires or explain which wire goes were so I can fix the thing and start it
It's a speed thing if you have to ask, you wont understand

This could be your lucky day...
After rewiring mine a gazillion times, I have a bit of experience with this... so does Frank..
Heres the wiring diagram for the one on mine, which as an M model but the iginiter is a race kit part from the 91 / 92 model so it may the same. Small Coil rewinds did the diagram based on info in there books..

Thanks MadKaw but it looks like there a bit differant
the wires I have are
Plug 1 - Grey - Black/ white - Yellow
Plug 2 - Yellow/red - Green - Green/black - Brown - Black - Black/yellow
Might mess around with them tomorrow as the battery was a pretty flat and I will charge it tonight, also it doesnt have a indicator switch block would having these wires not conected also hamper my progress

Anyway, not sure why / if it has K modle igniter in it. All I know is it is engraved with Race Kit part No. xxxxx or something.
Small Coil rewinds gave the info above, and tested it... it works fine according to them.??
The bike was raced by a guy called John Bogaerts many years ago... I hope he knew what he was doing...
Back on topic, Trunks if you don't have any luck I have the workshop manual for the K...

Re: ZXR750 igniter box wires - HELP PLEASE
I'd suggest sourcing the correct FACTORY wiring diagram for the model, I had huge dramas with an L1 I bought with a butchered wiring loom, I rewired it using the diagram in the aftermarket manual I had, I tried to get spark with my original repaired loom, a s/hand L1 loom, an L3 loom & 3 different CDI boxes, long story short, when I finally got hold of a Kawasaki manual, I found there are slight differences between L1 & L3 looms & CDIs & 1 won't work with the other.
The moral of the story is that Kawasaki bits are not always interchangeable between years.

Re: ZXR750 igniter box wires - HELP PLEASE
Thanks ppl I have a manual on its way but from what i have seen of other manuals they show where wires conect to things but arnt real good at showing the actual order of the wires into the actual plug
I guess i will have to keep mucking around and check that I'm not missing anything else that is afecting it starting

The factory manuals are good, in that they show which wire goes to which pin, so I think you'll be rght mate.

Well I got it winding over OK but no spark
Tried a few differant wire combos but no luck just gona have to wait to get my manual. Just wondering about the fuel pump does it make any noise when it's running? Cause with the ignition on it dosent seem to be working
just something else to keep me amussed I guess
