ZX7 Idle adjuster

Post by Buck »

Hi All

Put my 7R in for major service in Dec got it back after some issues , parked it up for a cupla months
and now I notice the fugger wont keep its idle RPM.

I have it set right using the adjuster go for even a rittle ryde and by first set of lights shes
adjusted herself back down to stall. What keeps the setting static or puts pressure on the
cable to keep the setting?

Why not go back to the Moss Street shop? coz it will be the forth time and I swore last time I would
not return without a machete.

there should be a spring of some sort holding the idle screw in tension against the carby housing if this is in place then try putting some plumbers tape on it as the thread may be poor and plumbers tape will give it a bit more bite :) if that dont work try draining the carbys by loosing the screws at the bottom of the bowls to drain the crap out, if this dont work check your air filter and give a clean if that dont work maby your carbys need a clean? all else fails find a better mechanic what did your last service include..... fuel injection and intake wise that is?
cheers Tim
