REAR SETS - For 06 ZX10R Question..!!
Hi all, I am wondering if anyone would know if the rear sets from the 05 model ZX10R will fit the 06 model ZX10R.. as in the hole spacing.. Has anyone tried this... basically I am looking at purchasing a set from the UK, but they say they are for the 04 / 05 model, but the guy selling them reckons they will fit my 06 model as well....?? I will check with my local Kawasaki dealer today as well, just thought I would ask the question... thanks.. Macca

Not 100% sure, but I'm under the impression they won't fit

Thanks for the reply.. I thought there was a difference.... so lucky I never purchased the UK ones..?? It always pays to research hey..!! By the way, how does your '10' feel with the extra 2 teeth up on the rear..and the tthrottle insert..?? not too peaky.....??
I have gone down 1 tooth in the front, I have a 1/5th throttle insert but have not installed it yet as i wanted to see how the front sprocket changed the feel at the track.. (you know only doing 1 thing at a time).. I didn't want to make it too peaky.. but after last Friday at the island, I felt the throttle insert would have helped heaps, as I cannot get to full throttle without changing my hand position when heading onto the straight...
Your opinion would be great.. Macca

Re: REAR SETS - For 06 ZX10R Question..!!
Feels way better with 1/5th throttle insert & well worth the money & time for the installation .. Ya dont end up having your elbow near pointing to the ground or wrist cranked right back when twisting the throttle & it helps with a bit quicker acceleration outta the corners .. the +2 teeth on the rear sprocket is a little bit peaky out on the highway but well worth it on track days giving more acceleration outta corners & faster pickup through all gears
& a GIpro TRE will give it even more power through the 1st few gears

The Horizon becomes closer much quicker with the throttle insert when you first put it in...but you adjust quickly. Its a must do mod, Gos did mine for 47c, used a piece of cut plumbing pipe smoothed off..works a treat.

The throttle mod in traffic is pretty good ya end up getting used of how it feels to know how far to twist that throttle
I reckon its one of the best mods I've done so far http://www.doublezracing.com/

Re: REAR SETS - For 06 ZX10R Question..!!
Yes I did the throttle mod on my ZX9 and went down 1 tooth on the front sprocket as well... Made a huge difference as I did them both at the same time... dropped my time at the island 2 - 3 secs immediately I would guess.....
I have a TRE installed in the Zx10 track bike as well as 1 tooth down on the front, K+N air filter, gutted cat, power commander 111 and a set of Akros.. it is going really well.. getting much more drive out of the corners in a better gear, much faster than stock.. so the insert will be going in this weekend.. Just wanted to do the changes 1 step at a time so you can feel the difference.. !! Might get into it tonight..??? Thanks for the advice guys...!!! Macca
