I ended up getting a second compression test and lo and behold he said the compression is fine!

How the f@*% can one please get completely different readings to another?

Mind you i am happy that the compression is good but how ridiculous.

So what happens if you go to another workshop & they get the same reading as the first?

I'd go back to the first place and give 'em hell!

I never did cos I never got the second test so didn't have any hard proof.

Well i picked up the bike this morning and what a difference after a new chain and sprocket. Feels much tighter .
I will never be going back to the first place they had not put the air filter back on properly and it was filthy, you think if you take it of and see it is dirty that a clean would not be too hard or even to put it on properly.
On top of that telling me the compression was half what it should be and it had no guts low down which has improved that a great deal with a new chain and sprocket.

So the lesson of the day is: to fix to our compression problem we just need a new chain & sprocket

For what it's worth, Afteer racing one for a few years now, I know my way around F model ZX6R's pretty well. I also have a full workshop manual if you need any specs. So if you ever need a hand, yell out.

Thanks Guys. I might take you up on that offer Strika, i need to replace the back disk and have never done that before so it might come in handy.
