Definately not an 8!!! Wheels are off a Vt Clubsport, the rest of its VY series 1 i reckon.....

It's definitely an 8. Goes pretty darn ok too!

The 8 an SV8 stands for 8 cylinders indeed, but SV8 was just another guess at what the car actually is unless i've misread the thread....
Looks like an exec with mags from the photers tho. I'm quite happy to admit it if i'm wrong tho! The only bit that leads me to think it's an SV8 is that i THINK the exec had a black panel in the centre of the rear bumper rather than full colour coded rear.....

Actually, the guy that had it before Nath had SS badges on it, when it's definitely not an SS. So they were removed and last I heard he was going to replace them with the original SV8 ones.

Looks neat though mate .. Just the thing for those cold rainy shitty days when riding becomes a chore compared to the luxury of a dry heated interior.

it only had 59,000km on it.. i had looked for a vy/vx SS but they all had much more km...

I have done-
Debadged for the hell of it
Took tutle shell off engine- new engine covers being painted as we speak
Over the radiator cold air intake
Maffless retune- estimated at abt 230kw at the rear wheels...

Next step is a full zorst... headers and all, and a ported throttle body... this should achieve abt 260-270 kw at hoops...

I decided to stay away from bling mods, as i want it sleeper-ish... so no bodykit etc


and.. for what its worth.. the diff between the sv8 and ssv8 is
exterior- body kit and grille, 18 inch rims on ss, 17inch on sv8
Interior- more options available

all running gear is the same...

bit hard to tell what model as that rear spoiler was on SS SV8 and Luminas
and those wheels def are NOT standard. Looking at the front and no
spots or front aero spoiler..so no its not an SS so maybe SV8 (you got TWO
black zorst outlets?) or Lumina

mind you..could be ex plod Exec with V8 engine and a stick on spoiler
either way an ex -poleece car or SV8 is gotta be a ball of fun
(watch that licence )

and of course, you always have the Zed for even more fun on wheels

yea it was an ex country vic car... old bloke owned it.. he put SS badges all over it (looked shit as) and ss floor matts..they can stay...lol...
the wheels were already on it- im not sure what they are off, cept its a holden rim (ive been told vt clubsport, vt senator and a few other things)... they can stay cos they ok...

i ripped the badges off, was gunna put sv8 badges on it- but now i think ill leave em off.. it suprises a few ppl when i gas it...

yr post hit the same time as mine

mods..are sweet mate

you are doing the same as what i have on my VX SS (manual btw)
no badges, tune, zorst, CAI, diff change and ...its where the phark did he go?
you will end up with a VERY quick taxi (I also added bigger brakes and beefed
suspension as they need 'em)

Genie 2 x2.5" stainless system on mine - polished no res' . Best sounding system you'll hear. Manta are cheap n CRAP.

Tri-y pacemaker / hurricane headers work better on a near stock Gen III than 4 into 1..coz you actually pick up low down V8 style torque than they seem to profoundly lack std.

yup....
mines getting pacemaker headers, and probably a ummm fark cant remeber the zorst, but the guy who gave me the mail order map knows his shit and builds drag cars and the like... he just sold the 506kw twin turbo LS1 motor that he built for a shitload.. it came out of his VY SS

he has mentioned a 3.9 diff gear conversion.. but i dunno if i want to waste the highway mileage...

the guys im getting ideas off is currently in a vx ss with 310kw at the rear hoops.. camm work, full zorst etc.. runs 11.3 or sumthin at broady i think??
