Hey All,

I've been hanging around here for awhile now but didn't feel right introducing myself until i actually had a Kawasaki in the garage again (well almost).

After a couple months of searching i finally bought a zx9r (pics attached). She is pretty stock standard at the moment but she is the bike i have always wanted, so i'm super happy.

Next steps are to get a tank protector (if i can find a bagster one), some crash knobs and a gear rack and then off for a couple days of riding.

Just as a bit of an introduction, this will be my first real bike in about 4 years. I got my first bike (1998 gpx250r - import one) in 2001. Then bought a 1992 zxr250 (black) c model which was great fun. A mate of mine ended up buying a 1991 zxr250 (identical bike in red) too... long story short, he lost his license on it and i "loaned" him the money to pay the fine...... anyway that loan ended up being repayed with a 1991 zxr250 which i have to this date..... and which hasn't been ridden in 4 years...

Sold my zxr250, bought a 1997 zx7r. Was a great bike too... but came to an unfortunate demise when it was left at a "friends" house one night while out drinking.... said "friend" proceeded to think riding the bike seemed like a good idea the next morning without permission.... that zx7r is no longer with us, and that person is no longer a friend.

Anyway, enough about the jaded past, have a great new bike i should be picking up in about a week, so just wanted to say hi to all and hope i see you out on a ride in the future.

Yep,

7.5 year old bike, ridden only on weekends by a 40 year old rider and has done the whole of 11,000km's.

I cant complain about that at all

i sure did!

the only draw back was i have to get it sent over from Perth..... which is quite a bit of hassle, but its a really nice bike, so i'll wear that.
