hmmm that sounds odd, i am no mechanic, but i would have assumed, there should be no strange noises when its cold or at running temp, although will idle higher shouldnt make weird noises, does it sound normal or not ? If u dont think so, might be time to get onto Mr Kawasaki for bit of Warranty treatment!

Easy tiger!
Its brand new and under warranty.
Advice you have received is from a dealership that you say have had little experience with them ( obviously ) and some internet babble.
When you say knock, can you elaborate? It goes away after about 20 secs. What happens in the duration? what RPM is it running at on the choke?
Kawasaki Have some failings but engines are definitely not one of them.
I got a sweater for my birthday. I realy wanted a moaner or a screamer.

the engine is running at abot 2000 with choke to start with with the knock.Took her for a 200 km run today. Is real noisy (ticking) after its warmed up have been told that kwaka's have noisy motors but it is pretty noisy.Took it to another dealership today while i was out and they confirmed there is a problem predominently with the 04/07 stamped bikes for some reason and it is going in there next week for them to have a closer look at.

My ZX9R is quite noisy in the top end. Nothing wrong with it, it's just talkative.

IS it really for 20 seconds, or maybe a 5 seconds..

Let me say, its a kwaka and they do it for what ever reason. Even the 14 does it, the 12 did it and my 9 does it... :D

If it is 20 sec though i would be saying the oil has lost its viscosity..
07 ZX14 - How fast ?? As fast as i want to go !!
