Ah yeah, I was racking my brain trying to remember you. I was a bit razzed when we met. Did you pull off my gloves and helmet for me? I think you also helped out with my arm when the pain started to kick in by sliding it Napoleon style into my jacket. Thanks a heap for that Richo, you're a legend!

So, as an update and nice way to close this thread:
I've had an amazing positive response from so many people both in and out of the motorcycling community. Thankyou to everyone.
The bike was written off (yes the 7 is dead) and insurance will pay up including some new gear.
I'm back at work on Monday, so I can't sit on forums all day anymore
My left arm is out of the cast and a nice 19 staple scar is forming, right arm in a new cast for at least 2 weeks and my left collar bone is not fractured.
No plans to buy a replacement road bike yet. I'll start back on Rachael's Monster 620 in July and go on group rides for a while.
Hanging to get back onto the track on my gixxer.
Hanging out to get my new KSRC-AU T shirt so I can keep the Kawasaki faith even though I don't own one anymore.
I've got a new mate Paul whom I hope the cops don't throw the book at until after he gets off his P's.

I'm especially thankful to my wife Rachael for her support over the last 2 weeks. You are the best.

It looks like you did a good job on it mate One thing to consider after an accident, particularly a good sized one like this, is that removing a helmet should be a last resort and is really only recommended if the rider is not breathing. I know it's not a nice thing to think about, but leaving a lid on after a crash can save a life.

Nah .. I wouldnt do that ... Andre had his nut shell off by the time I got a chance to see how he was ... Although Andre was pretty banged up and in a daize, the Honda guy (Paul) was worse for ware and needed attention first up.

But ya right ... thats the last thing that comes off.

The insurance company has the bike in their holding yard in Sydney. It has been written off and I won't see it anymore. I reckon it'll end up on http://www.motorcycledisposals.com.au/ or something similar. It had 62,000kms on the clock, was still pulling hard and I'd recently bought a new fuel pump.

It's really hard to listen to reason after an accident. I have seen the mcc stickers that say 'if i'm in an accident leave my helmet on' but I was already on my feet and walking around. Both arms/hands were useless and I just wanted out of the gear. I didn't even think that could have head/neck damage. Turns out I had a real close encounter with something on his bike and my neck. I've got 3 slash marks on my left neck/shoulder that look like I've spent the night with Mistress Vampira. They are scaring up nicely... chicks dig scars.

Andre, I'm glad to hear that your on the mend and have your dealings with insurance outta the way. Thanks so much for being so understanding and friendly to me throughout all of this. I hope the rest of your recovery is speedy and that you are back on the bike before too long. Up until the accident that was one of the most enjoyable rides I've had on the bike, and hope to ride with you again someday soon, maybe at the eastern creek where there are no cliffs my bike can use as a launching ramp if something goes wrong! Also, thank you Richo for all your help at the scene.

For all you kawasaki lovers, you shall be happy to see one less honda on the road here.

Sounded like a nasty spill for all involved. One less honda on the road yeah we can deal with that, but not the loss of another rider!! How are you ? and when will you be back on 2 wheels?
