How hard is it to fit a ventura rack to a zx9r?

Ok, im about to buy a Ventura rack for my bike but am being quoted $150-$200 to fit it. How hard is it to fit one of these racks to a 2000 model zx9r? Originally i was under the impression that i would just buy it and bolt it on myself, but it seems i may have underestimated the complexity of the rack.

My vague memories of putting one on my C model 9 were that it's a piece of piss....I'd save my money and do it myself if I were you

From memory ventura have pretty good instructions & they are from UN ZUD so the translation should be easy

Yeah i think im going to try myself first of all.

And im thinking of trying for a new bike shop as well, as i felt more than a slight bit of pressure to have them fit it even when i said i should be ok to do it myself.

I've done it myself, i think it was about a 1 & 1/2 beer job. Hardest thing is getting the rear seat unit off, after that its a PoP.

I removed and refitted mine on the 9 a few times while I had it! It was a simple ten minute job whoa to goa if you have done it before and 30 minutes taking your time and making sure of everything for the first time.
