just a quick msg to say that i can highly recomend michelin tyres as i have done just on 8000k's on my zx9r with a pilot sport on da front and a pilot road on da back and not once have they tried to induce those awful plastic-scrapping-on-bitumen sounds. looks like they may be good for another 2000k's aswell!!!! brilliant grip in da wet also. quite a few mates use them also and cant speak highly enough of them..........!

I've got the same front/rear combo, but i must say i'm not a big fan of the Pilot Sports...i'll definitely be changing the front for a Pilot Power when i wear it out.

The Pilot Road on the rear has been good so far though...no evidence of squaring yet and decent grip to boot.

I disagree Simon, had the Michies as OEM on my 02 ZX9R F1 n had absobloodylutely no confidence in the front end at all. Replaced them after 6thou with Bridgies F/014 R/020 n have much more confidence & the rear 020 is lasting longer. I like Michie as a brand but wouldnt recomend anything less then the Pilot Power for performance use.

I dont think you can buy Pilot Sports as they were an OE fit??? ZX_10_04 I would not consider anything else on a ZX10 except for Pilot Powers, they are the tyre of tyres.

I've had 3 sets of pilot sports. When theyt first came out, they were the ducks guts. Just as the powersare now.
Some people think they dated and crappy, but they were so far ahead of the several sets 207's I had before them.
I would say that in reality, Battle axes, Powers and 208's are about the same performance level. It a matter of finding a brand that YOU have confidence in.

i actually got a flat in my rear tyre last weekend, so it looks like pliot powers for both front and back soon.

Couldn't agree more, I'd just add that different tyre seem to suit different bikes also, I had pilot sports on my falco & hated them, I replaced them after about 2500km, when I saw the 636 had em as standard fit, I almost asked them to be changed predelivery, but thought I'd give em another go, and they weren't too bad, I would like to give the powers a go after the current bt19/14s are done in (which may be a while at the current rate).

That's all good until you square em off riding to work. That's why i have the hard compound on the rear. Always stickies on the front tho.

I do the same thing. Can't afford to be replacing rear tyres just from going to work and back.

what ya gonna put on the front? since they dont do a 100/80?
what sort of difference would a 110/80 or a 110/70 make to the handling?

i was hoping to put bt39's on mine, but brighton kwaka dont have em listed so might go the bt92 ... too bloody hard to decide on a tyre

I have a pilot sports fitted on the front and seems to be wearing and behaving extremely well so far, I replaced the rear sports with a pilot road last week, so far so good. If the rear gives me a good run i will keep using them. If not I'll prolly go for the bt20, bt014 combo? more for milage as I ride everyday and can't afford to be relacing a rear tyre every month. Imagine 2.5-3k spent on rear tyres alone in a year!
