registering it will be hard dude with a compliance plate issue you will be chasing your tail several times 
if its a 1988 model its an A model not a C! and judging by the rear tail light and front lights its an A model ask him weather he sorted out the compliance if not offer him $100 lolz cause you will need a new frame
