Marty you got any souvenirs to show us...???
Not yet mate...not that I would keep them anyway. Uuuurrrk! Specialist can't see me till the 6th of Oct, when he will likely set a date with me for the op.

Till then, it's small meals and ZERO fat! Which means no beef, pork, chicken, lamb, or any meat as well as no cheese, milk, or any other dairy derivitive with any fat in it. It makes things difficult at meal times!! Especially when travelling. Have you tried ordering a zero fat meal in a restaurant lately? I had to ask the waitress at this place last night if they had ANYTHING that didn't have either meat or cheese in it??? They didn't!!

Geez, I must've missed this the first time around. Sorry mate. Hope you're going ok and I hope your appointment rolls around quickly.
Bugger about the diet restrictions :( I've always said a life without cheese is not worth living - will you be able to eat cheese again after they've blasted your stones into smithereens?

They can't blast gall stones. Or they don't! They just remove the entire gall bladder. Some people come out with no change, others have to have smaller meals and eat low fat or no fat diets! I suppose at the end ofthe day, that in tiself would be a good thing for longevity! So at this point, I am unsure as to if I will be able to eat cheese again! I havn't been able to drink for over 6 years now (that answers your question I assume Glen  Oh, and I have been pain killer free for two weeks. If i stick religiously to the no fat regime, I only get little mild attacks which are uncomfotable but not to the point of stopping me from be able to work. Grumpy maybe...but I can still work!! ) and I loved a drink! I love cheese, so no doubt that will go too!!!!!!

To all you younger people out there. Take your parents advice and take all things in moderation, my errant eating and drinking habits of my early years are coming back to bite me now!! Be warned!! My mum warned me that all the drinking, smoking, drugs, fatty foods and motorbike crashes would come back and bite me when Iwas 40, and fark me she was right!!!

I finally got to see the surgeon late yesterday. He shook his head and couldn't understand why his staff didn't push me further forward to get in to see him  After looking at the scans, he added to his surgery list of today and I am going under the knife this afternoon!!!!!!!!!! :D :D :D :D :D :D Thank fcuk for that!! I was chewing 20 Mersyndol tabs a day to get through work, which isn't healthy. I'm off for a CT scan now to make sure the bile ducts have no stones in them and then off to the horsepiddle to lose a few grams of weight overnight! :D I'll pop in and say hi once I'm home which if all goes well will be Wed night or if there is difficulties (he thinks it's a chance due to the amount of previous surgery I've had) friday. I'm looking forward to the good quality drugs that hospitals have! 8) 8) 8)

Good luck and let us know how it goes.

I had my cancer scare last month. Being healthy (albeit fat) and barely go to the doctor that really put some perspective in health. Lucky it was a negative.
