Talk to me about brake pads...
Talk to me about brake pads...
There are some on eBay:
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll ... 0273885954
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll ... 0279679264
Are they good enough for weekend warrior and the occasional track day stuff? Or should I get Kawasaki ones or something else?

I've got EBC HH's in the 10 and for road and track use they're sensational. Shitloads bitier then the originals but apparently they wear your discs a bit quicker which is to be expected.
They say they're HH rated. For $14 a side you can't go too far wrong. The EBC's were like $60 a side I think

Re: Talk to me about brake pads...
I had ebay pads sometimes ago. Can't remember the faults so they must have been okay.
But I remember it did not bite when wet/raining, ... but so is my current pad. I have to really plan braking.

Re: Talk to me about brake pads...
Well my advice would be, if they are cheap there is probably a reason for that and they might look like a good deal, but either way this seller wont give 2 shits if u run into trouble, (Except if u leave Neg feedback!)
But if i was you i wouldn't risk it, if u r unsure about them, then bite the bullet and just pay that bit more! Brakes are one of your most important systems and you want something you know will stop u!
So spend the $50,$60, $70 whatever it costs just for the piece of mind you will stop!
I heard that SBS where too heard on your disk, but EBC where ok to use, maybe its the other way around, either way its stuff u gotta look after often.
I ran EBC HH on my 10 also and they worked a treat!

In the rear Id put em in...I mean fark, I hardly use the rear brakes anyhow.
Fronts I'd go genuine, they are easy on discs and stop good..

Re: Talk to me about brake pads...
I just replaced my pads ( Bendix ) witch were good when they had a lot of meat on them.
But slowly degraded to me thinking “why the f#@k do I have to squeeze so hard on the lever.( about .5 mm left )
Slotted some EBC HH pads in & have only done a commute to work & back but they are great & getting better as they bed in.

Re: Talk to me about brake pads...
I remember the first time I fitted a pair of EBC HH pads that the box had a warning along the lines of "beware of the improved performance with these new pads" and I though, yeah right. Well FMD I nearly went over the bars at driveway speeds when I went for my first ride on them and I've never looked back. I rode a 9 once back-to-back with mine where it had regular gold fren pads and I thought I was going to have to dig my heels in to make it stop compared to the EBCs.
