Tyre wear

Post by DaveGPz »

Got BT 021s on the GPz1100; the rear tyre's got scalloping on the tread blocks, but the odd thing (to me at least) is that the front of the tread blocks is lipped up heaps after 3000k (including the GOR)... why? 41psi, btw.

Sports touring tyres?

I'm no expert but I've found that if you push on harder tyres they seem to do that.

I got the same issue with the front on mine .. BT45's .. only done about 3000k and is badly scalloped. Rear is fine ..

However, I have heard the Bridgies are prone to this sort of thing ... maybe we're just pushing em too hard . . ;)

And on the seventh day Richo ended his work which he had made. Decided resting was for soft cox, straddled the REX and headed up the old road.
And it was good

How long since the shock was serviced?

The suspension settings and shock action can have a pretty dramatic effect on how the tyres respond / wear. 8)

I sense a deeper meaning... not in the last 30,000 kms at least, but it's only done 130,000 ks. I was thinking about getting forks and shock re-done... it's only got 130hp?

only 130hp!!!! as much as its nothing like the litres bikes... its still around 90kW!!!

the tread blocks on my front bt45 do that... i think it is just that the sports tyres are'nt meant to be puched that far....

i've never had a moment on mine tho... so can't say itsd a bad thing :?

Actually, I think a lot of those horses may have got a bit smaller over the last 10 years or so...
