Hi Allison,
Welcome aboard.
At slow speeds try using more or only rear brake and ride the clutch a bit. The rear brake will give you more stability at slow speeds. Vacant car parks or industrial areas on Sundays are a good place to practice. Like everything new, give it a little time and you will wonder what you were worried about.
