FZR250 - Mini Me, as it was black with gold wheels, like a mini zx12
ZX6 - Thr Brat - Cos it liked to try to throw me off with hard suspension
Z1000 - The evil one - Broken down twice, been knocked over by a car, dropped by a mechanic loading it onto a ute, hurt myself keeping it upright, and didn't run right for about a year

Re: Naming Bikes
One of my best friends who took me on my first ride has been given the job of naming all my bikes (seeing as it's her fault I am addicted now!)

If it wasn't for that "ointment" you recommended, i'd have been in a world of trouble.

First (and unlamented) GSX250S - affectionately (!) known as "Hard Waste". Spent a lot of time on the side of the road, waiting to be taken away. FJ1100 - "Tina"; current GPz1100 - "Dalek of God". Not really sure why, it's a line from a Shriekback song ('Hammerheads'), and it just seemed to stick.

Re: Naming Bikes
1. why do you name your bike ?
The usual reason: I'm not having something that hard and powerful between my legs without being on a first-name basis!
2. what have you named them and the reason for the name ?
My first bike (ZZR250) was originally a shared bike, so I didn't name it - wasn't completely 'mine'
My first 6 (2001 ZX6) was named Charlie. Because she was usually Tail-end Charlie!
My current 6 (2006 ZX6R) is called Genki. I was an exchange student in Japan and still remember *some* of the language - genki has a number of meanings - healthy, happy, good, cool, etc. The bike makes me feel genki whenever I look at or ride her
My current tracky has no name, since I'm not overly happy with it... I tried a few names, but I'm just not feeling the love. My next tracky will definitely have a name
I've named Dave's bikes too, since isn't a bike-namer. He isn't impressed with some of the names I've come up with

Road: 2005 ZX10R - not named yet
Road: 2008 Z750 - Kwak
Track: 2006 ZX6R - Yoshi (with a very Genki undertail)

Re: Naming Bikes
Being that I now reside in the shire I thought it only appropriate to rename the Mighty Rex " MY PRECIOUS" although the wife does get confused when I start referring to the bike with mates and she thinks I am giving away some trade secrets.

Re: Naming Bikes
I've been rather unimaginative in the naming of my track bikes.
Can't even call them colours, eg: blue bike and green bike as the R1 is red and black (soon to be white and red) and the ZXR is green, white & blue, so I need to simplify the names for the (mainly) non bike riders I talk to about them
R1 - big bike
ZXR - little bike
I dare not ask for suggestions
