What a great weekend!

Post by Black Magic »

Hey everyone.

I just spent the weekend out touring on the bike. I am starting to think that I love seeing new places more than I love weekend twisties.

We headed off from Brissie at 8am yesterday morning and took the looong route to Tenterfield where we stayed in 'Chateau De Dodgey' for $36 each! It drizzled pretty much from when we hit the NSW border, but that didn't dampen the fun.

After pizza and beer for dinner, exhaustion took hold and we crashed for the night.(Not literally but my body feels like I may have! )

We headed off early this morning on some old country roads through Texas, and had breakfast in Stanthorpe, rode through Warwick to QLD Raceway and watched a trackday, and then finally home at 5pm. Totally exhausted, bone weary and with the biggest grin on my face! :D

Just over 900kms in all.

I've done that exact trip in the car and have been meaning to do it on the bike. Good to see you had a good time :D

Next time your in tenterfield, try the Bowling Club hotel. Its about $90 for a room that takes 3 people and includes a buffet brekky. The bistro there is great for dinner too.

Thanks for the tip- I'm sure that Motor Inn is a health hazard!

Sounds like a great weekend BM, hoping to get away on one of those weekends myself in the near future, on my new Suzuki 1250 Bandit!!! ;)

It is a little far for you to join us unfortunately, but from recent experience there are some great places down there too! The areas around Toora are just beautiful! 8)

Sounds like you had a great weekend BM! :)

Jeff and I used to do a fair few overnighters, but haven't really done one for a couple of years. We would love to head out on more of them them again, with my usual clause of *there being enough notice to arrange my roster*.
Cheers,
Anne

Yes the weekend work is a bugger Esie. I am lucky that I have had a few off in a row now! I forgot what it was like to have a weekend off. Back on night shift again next Sat. :(
