Just a quick question to the people in the know how...
on these models, where is the kilometer counter connected to? the gear box or the front wheel?
so i want to know, where does the bike measure how far it has traveled...

AFIK, it should be from the countershaft sprocket......which is also fed to the speedo.

I've spent over 40 years of my life riding bikes .... the rest of it, I wasted ..

Re: 99 zx6r Kilometer Counter
no no, not wanting to remove it. saw an ad claiming that the bike has excessive amount of Kms on it cos the rear sprocket was changed. on mine that wouldnt do anything to the Kms as the sensor is in the front wheel... just dont know sweet FA about these to know if that was BS or not.
Thanks mate

Re: 99 zx6r Kilometer Counter
I'v read something like this before on a bikesales ad.But after the dyno day it looks like everybody's bikes have less k's than the odometer says....Everyones were almost 8% over on average.....MrWasabi wrote:no no, not wanting to remove it. saw an ad claiming that the bike has excessive amount of Kms on it cos the rear sprocket was changed. on mine that wouldnt do anything to the Kms as the sensor is in the front wheel... just dont know sweet FA about these to know if that was BS or not.
