Had a close look at the top of the forks today and noticed that one of the forks is slightly lower (1-1.5mm) than the one on the other side. Does this matter?
Bike seems ok, no weirdness generally. I did get blown all over the road once I joined the Bruce Hwy yesterday on my up, but there were strong winds and I had the luggage on...

the drop thru the clamps should be the same ( to point sumfing of a mm)
that of course assumes BOTH your forks are exactly the same length
and the fork internals are worn the same
and that the bike has not had a whack at the front that could
put the steering head outta alignment with the chassis

Its an easy fix Felix n yep its pretty important that they are equal lenght through the top clamp. Be usual for your forks to be different lenghts & even more unual if someone addressed it by sliding one through more the the other.

I wouldn't be suprised if it got pulled through a bit when I twisted the forks when I stacked it months ago. Funnily enough I specifically told the mech who serviced it to check them - maybe he did some measuring and everything was hunky~dory?? My father had a bit of a look, and he reckons it is probably nothing to worry about, and probably isn't even out as much as I think - he has a good eye for this type of thing, being a fitter/machinist by trade.
Nothing actually feels wrong, so what would I expect to notice if something was wrong? Shake, wobble, tyre wear???

may pull a little one way if the camber is bad
and may require a little more effort to pull it down for a corner
it may do RH corners easier than LH (or viccycersa depending
on which fork is down more)
you may also find it veers or pulls to one side under
HEAVY braking
