removing front tyre with kaneg stand.
hey guys,
i have a kaneg race stand which picks up the front by the bottom of the forks, i want to know can i use that to take of the front wheel or do ihave to get those stands that pick it up from the frame or elsewhere but the forks..
because i have to change my pads and rotors..
cheers fadi.

well i can still get to the bolts but i figured if i take the tyre off, the forks wont have that stability at then bottm and it could bend them?

hey all, i tried to remove the front tyre, i got the 2 main bolts of but the axle bolt, that need a hex head bit which is like 12 mm, does anyone know where i can find it?
i've tried super cheap and the biggest they have is a 10 mm hex head key.

I've got a 12mm one from Kincrome as part of a set (1/2" drive) - you can get them from Repco, etc. Any specialist tool company should be able to source one for you too.fadz90 wrote:hey all, i tried to remove the front tyre, i got the 2 main bolts of but the axle bolt, that need a hex head bit which is like 12 mm, does anyone know where i can find it?

If you're stuck you're welcome to bring it up and do it here.

If I remember right, M12 bolt with 2/3 nuts threaded onto (maybe biger or smaller can't quite remember), insert into axle and use spanner/ socket to undo. Long time since I had to use bush mechanics on my '9 but this got me out of trouble until I picked up a 12mm hex. If you have a welder a couple of spots of weld on the nuts can hold em tight.

I've got one but I'd only use it in an emergency - they're pretty soft and wont last terribly well.russ_2000_zx9 wrote:This should work for the axle.
