Re: Tank bag vs rear bag
tank bags are great, but unless you spend a heap of cash, and buy one with a whole tank cover, over time the tank bag will rub the paint.
the dust gets under them a bit, no matter how good they are.
on your zx2 thing, you may feel it intudes on you a bit.
i'd go for a rear bag, can fit more in and wont get in your way
cheers

Re: Tank bag vs rear bag
deffinatly will have trouble with a decent sized tank bag on a zx2r. my brother had a zx2r and my tank bag (aldis, cheap but pretty good) didnt fit real well cause of those damn hoses, and if you used the whole bag it was super high and came right up under his chin.
just for a differant point. even though it is a tank bag it came with straps aswell so you can either use the straps to attach on the tank or the magnets, BUT, i actually jerry rigged the tank bag using the straps to attach it to the back of the bike. if you got something similar you could try either way and decide what you liked best.

I plan on living forever..............so far so good!!

Re: Tank bag vs rear bag
imho ...rear bag
more secure, less likely to get in ya way, no damage to tank
and FWIW..I use a rear bag on the 12r..holds heaps

Re: Tank bag vs rear bag
i have a tankbag than convers to a tailbag much like the 1st one you have linked. its an OXFORD one, has the map pocket and stuff.
its great, its not waterproof, but it comes with a condomy lookin plastic over. (bit like a fitted bedsheet) to put over it when it rains, works a treat.
if they leak you gotta put everything in plastic bags.
happy shopping

Re: Tank bag vs rear bag
I have a large stackable tankbag, and frankly it's a pain in the arse when it's fully stacked up. Thusly im sticking with only using my low profile bag in combination with the rack bag (and amazingly enough a pair of sling over saddle type bags, will see how i go with that one though).
