one peice vs two peice

Post by 98ninja »

this question has probably been asked many a time here but....
i have a summer jacket and a winter jacket (and a teknic jacket i really want to get rid of for cheap)
4 sets of gloves
2 sets of boots
two sets of pants - one textile and one leather ( leather dont really fit well)

now i want a suit that will allow me to do track days and hold all of me in if i have a big off.

with all the gear i have does it really make sense to go for a two peice? as i already have gear like that.
what are the cons of a one peice suit?

any other mildly related opinions?

one piece

pros:
bloody comfortable to ride in.
cons.
1. off the bike you walk around like a monkey humping a basket ball. :(
2. you have to take them off to pull the roller door down

two peice is great for comfort and convenience as you can remove jacket only if you get hot however the stretch section at the back is what I worry about in a big off. The zipper can and sometimes will break and leave you open for the full damages of gravel rash.

I used to use a 2 piece on the track but started to get alittle worried as to what would happen in an off so I got a 1 piece for track use. I was glad to have it in the last off as I slid against the tarmac for a while and suspect that my 2 piece may have let go.

Think about how much track riding you will be doing and how fast your going then make your decision.

A 2pc is much more convient if your are going to use it on the road. Not only can you wear the jacket only with a 2pc you can take it off at fuel/coffee stops.

But if its only for track days a 1pc would be fine.

I personally would only buy 2pc suits due to the ease of getting in/out of them.
