Need a clear run of green lights?

Post by 67-FKD »

Is this a new idea?

First I've seen of it, its a good idea though if it actually works (clearly i realise it doesn't give you a clear run of lights haha, just trips the sensor better!)

Thoughts?

It's a big magnet and that's all.

I can't think why they shouldn't work here, as far as I know we also use inductive-loop detectors for traffic lights.

Having said that I'd like to try one out before saying yay or nay as I have to admit I haven't had a problem with the Hornet or my old ZZR600 so they must be metallic enough (or the loops here are more sensitive than the US).

FWIW you can buy large rare-earth magnets here: http://aussiemagnets.com.au/Merchant2/m ... arthBlocks for shitloads cheaper than eBay in the US if you want to experiment.

I tend to wait for one revolution and then run the light..... Is that wrong?

only if you get caught!

Yeah as ratmick said we use inductive loop here, so some rare earth magnets would probably do the same!

Those will only work over here in Oz if used in conjunction with a terminal digitised flux capacitor. I happen to sell these and have a few in stock. $50 posted! :D
