You'll be fine with the '08 
.....They have a few minor tweak's opposed to the '07...IE better oil flow to the head and a few other revised parts (buckets and seals).The only problem that I have heard of carrying over to the '08 is the rocker cover gasket Issue but kawasaki will fix it under warranty (even if it's out apparently 
),Is only a simple gasket change they will do in a day if it does happen ....They are a shit hot looking bike by the way but I am a little biased
