Just reading http://www.news.com.au and found a quiz relating to the internet being around 40 years. Thought I'd take a shot at it.....WAY too much time on my hands....and apparently for most of my life

no surprise here
I was using what was the predessor to the internet (aarpNET from memoryor something similar) at Uni
....in 1975

Connection was via dial up phone in a sound proof box

im surprised they didn't include bbs's in that list as that was the major thing to preceed the internet as it curently stands for most people

I used to run a BBS many years ago - 300bps modem on a computer with a 20mb hard drive. Online games and all

My first experience with the internet was via my upgraded modem - 1200/75 baud. Now that was some serious speed!
