storing a fuel tank

Post by matchan »

Anyone got any tips?

I've wound up with 2 spares and I'd like to keep them in reasonable nick.

Cheers
Matt

Dry them out, keep them somewhere there is not a lot of temp change, put some silica gel packs inside the tank to absorb moisture (the plastic pakets you get inside electronic equipment when you buy it new from the store)
A computer once beat me at chess, but it was no match for me at kick boxing.

Everyone is entitled to be stupid, but some abuse the privilege.

Cheers Rob but we already went on a "stimulate the economy" drive last year with a new LCD and fridge, just forgot to keep the silica packets!

I would buy a few cans of WD 40 blast the whole can in the tank & do that every 6 months to a year,
If you go to use the tank again just wash it out with solvent being carefull not to get any on the paint work ;)

Give me a ZRX1200 tank and I'll give you a ZRX1100 one, and I'll look after it for you- might even repaint it. :P
2 X ZRX1200R 4 X ER6N, GT550, 1988 ZX-10, 4 X GPZ250R, 4 X GPZ900R and GPZ750R :) Yeah I like Kawasakis.
