Article from: Herald Sun
Gareth Trickey June 30, 2009 06:45am

A GO-Kart driver could face police charges after a joy ride through the streets of Melbourne's east.

The early morning adventure came to an abrupt end when the driver slammed the go kart into a Nissan Navara ute parked on Balfour Ave, Heathmont about 1.30am.
Local residents managed to free the trapped 28-year-old driver from Kilsyth.

Police believe the driver, who was not wearing a helmet at the time, started his midnight run from his girlfriend's house in Marlborough Road, Bayswater.
He was taken to a the Alfred hospital complaining of back pain.

Police said the man could be charged with using an un-registered motor vehicle.

Until he runs you over and you can't walk or ride your bike.

The guy was a pin head, running into a stationary car, should learn to drive it.

Actually you should, who do think is paying the medical bill for this brain dead f**k who had to go to hospital then will be on compo with a stuffed back?

It is not like he went up down his street, he went from Bayswater and crashed in Heathmont, a distance of over 5 klms (as per google). I think it is he who should harden the f**k up.

If someone wants to be an idiot and ride down the road with no helmet and run into parked cars you are not getting sympathy here nor any congrats or pats on the back for being a hero.

I once rode my YZR30 about 6kms from my place up to a mates house ......belting along footpaths, underpasses, tried to stay off the road as much as possible, and using footpaths out the 'back' of houses........it was a fuckin' hoot.

The only thing that the guy in the go-kart did that was wrong - was crash into the ute. If he had managed to make it home - Bloody Legend !!

How is that then. Unregistered vehicle. No TAC payout there. If he is not an ambulance subscriber then thats going to cost him. Medical expenses will be his as well. Cant work due to injuries? Then he may end up on a pitiful allowance for the rest of his life as an invalid.
I got a sweater for my birthday. I realy wanted a moaner or a screamer.

A nice enterprising young fella I thought! And...he probably crashed because he was pissed and really really pushing hard. I mean why wouldn't you. It's great fun for those who havn't tried it. I have access to Dangerous Dave's 125cc elec start race kart and let me tell you, it's a hoot. Mind...I havn't run it over to bayswater or anything, but it's a great idea. What a challenge that would be. Or even better, a midnight run from Williamstown to the city and back, via the west gate bridge!!! Dave owns two karts, anyone interested in sharing a cell??

I can understand him crashing though, as slicks don;t grip that well on wet tar and being rear engined they can be a bit of a handfull!! :kuda: I hope he hasn't hurt himself enough to stop him attempting another run!!! :D
