I deliberately ran over every bump on the way home and the grin goes from ear to ear


It took this guy 2 days to fix my bike after 6 weeks of trying to get various other people to do it...

Prices vary on what parts you want in the bike, and it's not necessarily the cheapest option, but you will get a bloody good job done, and he explains everything to you (in detail ) and quick..
But i like the customer satisfaction rule he has.. he will continue to fix/alter the bike until you're happy with it

Problem is small surface iregularitys in the road turn the bike into a ejection seat leaving the rider crippled in one form or another.

Its either sore bum, sore back or sore nads, like tanya i just want to ride the bike without freaking out every time i see a bump or a potential bump I just want to go over it with a minimum of fuss.

It gets even more exciteing if you want to do a 400 km day and on the way you see some corners that are just a mass of patches and you cant decide weather to crank it over and pray or just ride off the edge of the cliff!!!!

But apparently its all good now.

C'mon Tanya, spill the beans, what was it ? Spring, damping ? both togeather ?

I have heard that the spring is too hard & overrides the damping so I'd be interested to hear what he did since mine also has ejector seat syndrome and I'd be easily over 90kg in riding kit. I've been meaning to have mine done for some time now, but work commitments.... etc keep getting in the way.

Fluff's on her way to meet Hammer down Coffs harbour way. I believe she had a new spring (lighter) fitted n the shock revalved (all backend). I'm sure she ll correct me if I'm wrong when they get back to Brisvegas.

I suspected it was soemthing like that, although there seemed to be some doubt about the spring arriving in time.

I'll wait for the full report upon Tanyas (triumphant) return.

On the trip down the bike was like a limo
Stu decided to go a different way home, and i'm reasonably sure he scouted the road beforehand to find the roughest, worst roads he could (but lots and lots of twistes )
The ride is firm still, and i got bounced around a little bit, but only on the really bad stuff, but even then the suspension kept the bike stable, predictable and the ejection seat feature has been removed
I even went to [ ] that far to the edge of my tyre on the worse bits so it can't have been that bad.. and i feel that i could have easily pushed a bit harder, which I will start doing from now on as my confidence in the bike's handling has grown after this trip I've stopped panicking when i see bumps and patched road

My recommendation is that if you have one of these things, spend the money, it's a whole lot better bike..

Matchan the delay in getting the bike done was shops inability to get the spring in for me, i got messed around a fair bit But I went into the guy's workshop who did the suspension for me, and he got one in 2 days, no problem He put a different valve in and re shimmed the shockie, and got a new spring for it.. He said the front does need to be done too, as it's too hard, and you really do notice it once the back's done, but as I don't have the funds I can live with it for the moment
I love my bike again
