Tyres in the wet

Post by ninjaboy »

The Bridgestone BT-010 on the rear holds very well in the wet. When it rained a few days ago (I think it was last Friday...), I HAD to experiment before the tyre change. SO... I pulled out along the familiar roads for some "controlled" power slides and fast corner taking in the wet.

To my surprise, I didnt manage to scare my self at all. The tyres held up VERY well, considering the "not so perfect" tred left in the centre of the tyre.

Damn, I SOOOOO need braided brake lines

sorry guys only just noticed the post
My money is going on the Pirelli Diablo's when these hoops are done in.
If I can afford it I'll go for the Pirelli Diablo Corsa's...........that's if I can find 'em over here in Aus.
Found ya a link to 'em

If you're old enough to remember the Pirelli Dragon?? (it was THE tyre to have), the diablo is the replacement.
It tends to drift a little on full lean & full throttle but is very predictable sweeeeeet !!

The Diablo Corsa is a different compound and runs about 4 deg hotter (super sticky) never had them slip or spin up once. It's about as close as you'll get to full-on factory race rubber.

hmmm
from memory.... (just checked..yep I am old enuff!!)
the Pirelli Dragon was the choice of tyre for the first 916 duc....
and thought to be a very sweet tyre on HiPo bikes....
but never seemed to take off as a replacement tyre on fast Jap bikes
not sure why tho...
most of the Jap large capacity bikes seemed to take to Bridgestone
or the Dunlops (the GOOD ones!!! )

IMHO
the Corsa is a good tyre...but seems better suited to stuff like Ducatis, Triumph Daytonas big Aprilias and other Europeans...
could be wrong but....

cheers
GOTTA LUV the 12R!!

rossi - pirelli diablo corsas

Post by gixxerdave »

rossi,
i still have a set of pirelli diablo corsas on my old zx9r (now race bike), you can get em here in oz no probs.. only your local bike shop might have to order em in as theyre not as common as the cheaper pirelli diablos.. i think they cost me $500 or something like that (the corsas)
mrmina - best tyre i've ridden on - at the track too... theyre like a track tyre that you can take on the road... i thought the metzeler sportec M1's were good when i had em but the corsas blow em away
hth

I've heard about the corsa but not much on the diabilo. But the corsa dont last long.

When i'm due for a new set i'm still keen on the bridgestone 012 or replacement. :?
