Call me strange but I dont see nowt wrong with the stock 1200 swingarm :? The Over kit looks cool but so does the stocker.

BUT, there are soo many other bits on that bike I'd love to have. I have actually seen the bike and spoke to John at last years ASC round in Qld. He showed me - IMHO - the wildest thing on the bike. The whole underseat area is the airbox, it also has the biggest K&N I have ever seen, I think he said it was off a turbo somethingorother.

From inspecting the bike the legend has not lost anything either - judging by the state of the hoops at the time    .

Great bike - gotta love the ZRX.

Also, few other things that were not mentioned in the article

ZX6 Raditator - Yeah well, WSS Race kit ZX6 radiator to be precise.

Full Titanium Akra Pipe - Um, off Akira Yanagawa's 97 or 98 WSBKmachine no less

Those rear shock's were hand made by a suspension mechanic for a GP team using Ohlins and WP internal parts

And doesnt look to far fom stock to the untrained eye.

There are actually TWO ZRXes in this months Rapid. Neither are my cup of tea though.
2 X ZRX1200R 4 X ER6N, GT550, 1988 ZX-10, 4 X GPZ250R, 4 X GPZ900R and GPZ750R :) Yeah I like Kawasakis.

Seems to be beneficial too - his reported power figures are about 10hp above most of the other 1224s I've seen.

I assume you mean the dark green one, Phil? I think the swingarm buggers the other one. They are a work of art stock I reckon. Spoils the looks stuffing with the indicators, unless just putting clear lenses on. I am reticent to change my suspension coz it is so comfy as is. Gittin old ya see. A mate (who owns a GSX1400) got on my ZRX the other day and couldn't believe how soggy it is. (standard settings) Works for me.
ZRX is sooooo close to perfect bike for me- what it lacks is a slightly more comfy seat (Moorehouse will fix mine) a centrestand (ChuckC from ZRXOA might eventually make one for me...wishful thinking) and a slightly bigger fuel tank- 21L would be good. Got a spare ZRX1100 tank I might just modify to suit that purpose. :D

do a search for this on the ZRXOA site - How To: 1100 to 1200 Tank Swap - for some extra info - might help

there is a member on that site using a modded tank with additional capacity - not sure who but looks neat. basically raised at the top and repainted.

i like the RAPID bike, would like a swinger like that but without the bracing.

thats a great story, and the mods he has done are unreal.......179 ponies at the back wheel ????

He was a great rider back in the 70's / 80's. He is the sort of rider that would give Robbie Phillis a hurry-up in Forgotten Era !!
