Doing cartwheels here! Finally Kawasaki SBK seem serious and have signed a rider of genuine championship contender calibre. With some further testing and decent backing, I reckon there will be a number of more fancied rivals given a regular hurry-up. With Yamaha being team pommie in WSB, hopefully Kwak will be team Aus with Parkesy alongside Chris the V!
So who is gonna partner Rea at Ten Kate and Neukirchner at Suzuki now if it ain't Toseland or Vermeulen? Surely Checa's done nothing to deserve to keep his ride (like most of his career) and Kiyonari has been the disappointment of the season. Kagayama is out at Zook so who is his replacement? Elias, De Angelis, Haslam, Sykes, Byrne?

Ah, computer dating. It's like pimping but you rarely have to use the phrase "upside your head" - Bender Bending Rodríguez

Re: CV to Kwaka WSBK in 2010?
He signed.!
Aussie Chris Vermeulen has signed a two-year deal to ride for Kawasaki in the 2010 World Superbike championship. As was widely expected, the current factory Suzuki rider penned his deal in Estoril today at the start of the Portuguese MotoGP clash. Vermeulen met Kawasaki boss Ichiro Yoda in Estoril last night to finalise details of his contract that will see him ride for Paul Bird in 2010 and 2011. The former World Superbike runner-up and World Supersport champion said: “It’s a really good deal and I'm excited about joining Kawasaki from the technical point of view, to race and develop the bike next year an then go out on the new bike for 2011." Asked what had convinced to sign for Kawasaki when he held talks with Tech 3 Yamaha and Pramac Ducati in MotoGP and Aprilia, Yamaha and Suzuki in World Superbikes, Vermeulen added: “WSB is going to be their main project, they are pulling out of MotoGP and they will not be running an AMA team nor a team in the Australian SBK championship - this WSB program is where all their engineers and budget will be focussed. They haven't won in WSB for a long time and they really want to win races. The financial backing and resources is very good for this project." Vermeulen is the second high profile rider to confirm a return to World Superbikes this week following confirmation that James Toseland will move to Yamaha after being dropped by the Tech 3 MotoGP squad in favour of Ben Spies. An official announcement is expected shortly.

Re: Vermeulen to Kwaka WSBK in 2010.!!!!
Chris Vermeulen, one of the few riders to win both MotoGP and World Superbike races, has joined the Kawasaki World Superbike Racing Team for the 2010 season. Currently racing in MotoGP, Vermeulen will soon apply his talents to the official WSB Ninja ZX-10R and will get his first chance to ride the machine during tests in November.
During his previous WSB career Chris secured 23 podiums, including 10 wins, from 45 starts. His immediate aim for Kawasaki is to expand those already impressive statistics. Still only 27 years old, Vermeulen is a highly experienced rider who brings with him a burning desire to succeed, and the proven talent to make an impact in WSB racing.
With the arrival of Chris in the team for 2010 the entire Kawasaki World Superbike Racing team would like to say thank you to Makoto Tamada for his sterling efforts in the past two years. Makoto will leave the Kawasaki WSB structure at the end of 2009 with the very best wishes of all the Kawasaki family following him in his future endeavours.
Steve Guttridge, Kawasaki European Race Planning Manager, said of Chris's arrival in 2010 : "The Kawasaki World Superbike team structure has evolved well in this its first year being run by Paul Bird and his experienced crew. For next year we realise that we need to make another step forward to be competitive at WSB level and we believe Chris could be the key to this. It's an understatement to say we are looking forward to next season now, we just can't wait!"
Ichiro Yoda, Director of Kawasaki Motors Racing - said: "Chris has the full backing of the factory next season and with the project we are creating now in WSB with Chris, then I believe we can be very competitive next year. We will make improvements step-by-step and we have a heavy test schedule planned already in order to do just that. Chris' comments will be key to move the Ninja ZX-10R development in the right direction, so I'm very happy to be working with him."
