the song makes no mention of the seige of Khe Sahn, the song lyrics start (and the only mention of the place Khe Sahn is here )

the rest of the lyrics reflect the fucked up nature of the australian involvement in the Vietnam War and its effect on those who fought
(which, from many a yarn over a beer with my mates who fought...at places like Long tan, Binh Bah and yes Coral/Balmoral ...are pretty correct)
