200 on an open freeway is pretty bad and lord knows we've probably done things approaching that silly.
But in a 50 zone? Where there's every chance of pedestrians, etc?

Whilst I don't condone the guy being a knob ( excessive speed in a 50 zone )
I didn't think a HONDA ( 250 shitter at that ) could go that fast....

Hoon laws? if they made laws regarding 'just a total fucking fool" then i think he'd have it cubed. Seriously, suspected until 2011, and a learner.
Just what the hell had he done in the past for such a decent suspension.

Taxi driver caught doing 114km/h on Monash Freeway
A CABBIE has had his car impounded under hoon laws after being nabbed at almost twice the speed limit.
About 9.30 last night the taxi was caught doing 114km/h in a 60km/h roadworks zone on the Monash Freeway.
Despite impounding two cars on the same section of road, police were amazed to find drivers still speeding along the stretch.
The Broadmeadows man, 38, was issued with a $584 fine, a 12-month loss of licence, and hen had his vehicle impounded for 48 hours.

Hoons' new Audi, bike impounded when drivers busted speeding on Monash Freeway
TWO hoon drivers have had their cars confiscated after being caught speeding on the Monash Freeway overnight.
Stonnington police detected a 32-year-old Toorak man driving his brand new Audi A3 at 118 km/h in a signed 60 km/h section of the Monash at 9.15pm last night.
After intercepting the driver, issuing a $584 fine, suspending his licence for 12 months and impounding the newly acquired car, the member went back to patrolling the Monash.
An hour later a 19-year-old Dandenong man was caught doing 108 km/h in a 60 km/h section of the freeway.
He had his Suzuki 250 motorcycle impounded and will face the same penalties as the Toorak man.
Sen-Constable James Robbins said police were stunned at the blatant disregard of the drivers for the safety of road workers as well as the safety of other drivers.

Maybe doing night work...was down there a couple of weeks ago and there were some work going on a 3am. Got passed a lot in 40k sections by trucks, cars and bikes. Hardly anyone takes any notice of work zone limits so maybe they are concentrating on this.hoffy wrote:sounds like their cleaning up in the roadworks secrion..bit rough to'book people in the middle of the night though when theres no one working on the road..

To be honest... as a general rule in Sydney, the freeways aren't watched very often. During peak hour the police very rarely show themselves!
